Exeter Mobile Art School ‘EMAS’ 2023 commissioned by Arts Work Exeter

Jonathan Wright and I were commissioned to create a piece of ‘live art’ that activated Exeter’s existing public artworks. We created ‘EMAS’, it is many things, a beautiful modular sculpture, a lecture theatre, a mobile gallery, and a camera obscura. It offered people the chance to see the same places, and art works they might pass every day in new and interesting ways. We invited local students, residents of and visitors to Exeter to reveal their creative talents, share their personal stories of the town, and to reflect and celebrate what was already there, as well as imagining what could be here.
